The Role 

As a Field Service Professional, you will install, service and support industry-leading smart home technology. You’ll build trusted relationships with customers while delivering exceptional service and helping create safer, more connected homes. 

Customers will rely on your expertise, professionalism and integrity as you diagnose issues, perform installations and provide solutions that deliver peace of mind. You’ll work independently throughout the day while staying connected to a supportive team invested in your success. 

In addition to installation and service work, you’ll identify customer needs, recommend additional solutions and generate additional earnings through uncapped commission opportunities. 

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Install and service smart home security, thermostat and automation systems, including cameras and smart locks. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. 

  • Educate customers on product features and functionality. 

  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience at every appointment. 

  • Conduct onsite evaluations to recommend and sell equipment upgrades or service enhancements. 

  • Maintain quality, safety and installation standards. 

  • Manage daily appointments, work orders and equipment. 

  • Identify service recommendations and referral opportunities when appropriate. 

 

What We’re Looking For 

Must have: 

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. 

  • Ability to successfully pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug test. 

  • Ability to pass all licensing requirements under applicable law. 

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills. 

  • Ability to act with integrity while building rapport with diverse customers. 

  • Willingness to learn and use technology. 

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

 

Preferred experience: 

  • Field service, telecommunications, cable or internet installation, pest control, lawn care, construction, solar, utilities, HVAC, electrical work, security systems, home services or another customer-facing role involving hands-on work, problem-solving and independent responsibility. 

  • Automotive, retail, insurance, business-to-consumer, door-to-door, call center or inside sales; telecommunications; account management; customer retention; membership sales; home improvement sales; or another customer-facing role involving communication, problem-solving and relationship building. 

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Climb and descend extension and step ladders with tools and equipment on a repeated basis 

  • Lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 pounds frequently 

  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold 

  • Enter and perform work in attics: 

  • Temperatures may exceed 110°F for short periods 

  • Openings can be as small as 16” x 30” of 18” x 24” 

  • Crawling, kneeling, crouching, awkward postures may be required for up to 60 minutes at a time 

  • Maintaining 3-points of contact while navigating or traversing across trusses without stepping on drywall in between 

  • Operate a company vehicle repeatedly 

  • Perform work while standing for extended periods 

  • Perform outdoor work with potential for bee stings 

  • Perform computer and telephone work while seated as needed
