Job Summary:

Partner with the Director, Business Continuity to create and support well-designed, fit for purpose, user-friendly applications, workflows, and SharePoint lists to automate and improve business continuity processes.  This role will utilize the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, SharePoint) and other tools in the Microsoft ecosystem to manage and update the existing Business Continuity app that is used enterprise wide. This individual must have the creativity, vision and desire to turn customer needs into application enhancements that improve and streamline our customers’ Business Continuity experience.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Business Continuity

  • Work closely with Director, Business Continuity to understand current business continuity processes and re-engineer them for improved efficiency.
  • Manage the custom developed Business Continuity app. (Program, test, debug, document, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues).
  • Review all existing back-end processes (links between Power Apps and SharePoint lists) and propose ways to streamline them and improve them (automate flows, communications, exports, data management, etc).
  • Work closely with internal customers to build relationships with app users and continuously gain a deeper understanding of their needs, opportunities, and pain points.
  • Initiate, and participate in, discovery workshops and requirements gathering discussions.
  • Utilizing that creativity and vision, and the information learned from discovery workshops, make recommendations to Director, Business Continuity for app improvements (and be prepared to program them when approved).
  • Manage the annual Business Continuity training process (development and facilitation) for Business Continuity Department Coordinators.
  • Learn new technology when necessary to improve the Business Continuity app.
  • Learn and assist in the maintenance of the enterprise-wide emergency notification system.  This will include researching how this system can interact with other systems (facilities, security, real estate).

 

Emergency Response

  • Work closely with Emergency Response Training Manager to develop, program and roll out a custom emergency response planning app utilizing the Business Continuity app framework and code.
  • Assist the Emergency Response Training Manager in developing automation tools as needed.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Remote workplace segmentation.
  • No travel expected.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in Power Platform development with significant experience in Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint and MS Teams. **This is a Must Have**
  • 3+ years experience creating workflows using Microsoft Power Automate.
  • 3+ years experience Microsoft SharePoint (to design, develop, and maintain SharePoint applications & lists)
  • Demonstrated experience for best practices of developing applications utilizing the platform.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to include direct internal customer interaction, training of internal customers, and the production of documentation.
  • Ability to simplify and standardize complex concepts/processes and tie together solutions across systems.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications (or training) desired:
    • Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, SharePoint)

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and training in PowerApps and SharePoint releases and suggest improvements to existing systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Self-motivated problem-solving skills.
