Inbound Upgrade Specialist – Remote Position
Starting Pay: $17.75/hour + Uncapped Commission
Schedule: Monday–Friday | No Weekends
Training: Paid, 4-5 Weeks | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM MT

A Day in the Life:
Our sales representatives take inbound phone calls from our existing customers to help fix concerns, and to offer upgrades, help customers moves, and educate them on exclusive offers that are available to them. Successful Sales Representatives determine customer needs and provide a white-glove experience from sale to installation while balancing the customer experience and correcting potential customer concerns.
As an Inbound Revenue Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for resolving troubleshooting issues and concerns of the customer via an upgrade, maintaining all Customer Solutions metric targets, and convincing customers who are eligible to get back into contract. As such you will need to learn the internal process of troubleshooting and our proven sales process and approach.
Top Performers Make $70K+
- Base Pay: $17.75/hour
- Uncapped commission structure
- Average earnings: $55K+
- Top performers in Inbound Revenue earn $70,000+ annually (commission + base pay)
Training Schedule (4-5 weeks)
- Tier 1 training and nesting – basic panel and sensor troubleshooting. (3 weeks)
- Upgrades Sales training and nesting - Sales Process and offers. (1-2 weeks)
- Based upon your progression in the troubleshooting tiers, you will be eligible to increase your access to other tiered Upgrades and Moving calls as you demonstrate your ability on the sales and service aspects listed below. This includes:
- Tier 2 Upgrades calls
- Tier 3 Upgrades calls
- Moving Customers
What You'll Do (Sales)
Speak with inbound calls—current Vivint customers—looking for troubleshooting assistance or help relocating their systems
- Use proven sales flows to identify needs and offer the best-fit upgrades and moving options
- Sell Vivint Protection Program (VPP), and offercross-sells like insurance and solar energy plans referrals.
- Generate referrals by offering exclusive rewards to customers who share Vivint with friends and family
- Educate customers on the full value of Vivint's smart ecosystem with clear, persuasive communication
- Maintain consistent sales performance and hit key metrics like Installed Sales and installed revenue per call.
- Provide a white-glove experience from sale to installation
- Display grit, resilience, and adaptability to stay competitive and push through challenges
- Stay up to date with continuous learning on products, techniques, and sales industry trends
Customer Support & Service (30%)
- Assist customers in relocating Vivint systems when moving to a new home
- During troubleshooting calls, maintain a customer-first attitude and help them resolve issues with or without the upgrade.
- Provide a World-Class Customer Service experience on every call.
- Ensure policy compliance, ethical standards, and customer satisfaction on every call
- Meet availability requirements to ensure you’re ready to serve incoming customers
- Support Vivint’s compliance training, documentation, and company-wide standards for integrity and service
What We’re Looking For
- Prior sales experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication, resilience, and coachability
- Proficient in typing (35+ wpm) and using software, databases, and call scripts
- A growth mindset and eagerness to learn and evolve
Remote Work Requirements
You must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Not reside in: CA, CO, CT, DC, KY, ME, NJ, NY, or WA
- Have a quiet, private, distraction-free workspace
- Not be the primary caregiver for children, others, or pets during working hours
You must also provide your own equipment:
- A Windows 10 PC or laptop with at least 16 GB RAM (Macs, tablets, and Chromebooks are not compatible)
- A USB wired headset with microphone
- A working webcam
- Reliable, wired internet with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download / 25 Mbps upload
