Job Summary: (Remote)

The Operations Specialist will be responsible to Implement, maintain, and improve processes; while utilizing systems to ensure the timely and accurate completion of enrollment, billing, remittance, tax and/or fulfillment activities for the 1.1 million residential and small commercial customers across Direct Energy United States brands in over 80 territories. This will include both clearing exceptions and performing root-cause analysis to aid in the continuing improvement for overall customer experience.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily processing tasks while working and minimizing exceptions.
  • Perform cross-functionally to proactively identify, document, and assist development of processes and gaps.
  • Use root-cause analysis to identify solutions to exceptions, errors and process gaps.
  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports from one source or multiple sources; using them to drive results and performance.
  • Use a proactive and positive approach to research and analyze complex business problems to timely and accurate conclusion, recognizing warnings.
  • Thoroughly document system processes to prioritize system enhancements with multiple stakeholders.


Working Conditions:

  • Work from Home or Open Office Environment (Depending on Location)
  • Some overtime required as special projects arise.
  • Travel: Minimal to None


Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience 
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a demonstrated ability to learn


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university preferred 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to analyze exceptions for solution to close.
  • Ability to work independently and meet service levels.
  • Ability to navigate requirements that change periodically for various business units and territories.
  • Ability to present data to the leadership team in a clear, understandable way.
  • Ability work effectively and build relationships with people at all levels across multiple business units.
  • Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
