Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead multiple cross‑functional engineering teams within Vivint’s Core Engineering organization. Core Engineering owns the Core Sales platform—the shared systems and UI capabilities that power Vivint’s customer‑facing sales experiences.

The Core Sales platform provides essential, reusable capabilities including customer information capture, financing pre‑qualification, cart and checkout flows, payments and payment methods, document signing, and installation scheduling. This single platform is integrated by multiple product engineering teams that support different sales experiences and business workflows.

This role is responsible for ensuring the Core Sales platform is reliable, resilient, and broadly reusable—so that downstream engineering teams can focus the majority of their effort on the unique needs of their sales experiences rather than rebuilding common functionality. Because these systems are central to Vivint’s ability to sell and operate, this role carries direct accountability for platform stability, quality, and long‑term scalability.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop multiple cross‑functional software engineering teams responsible for the Core Sales platform
  • Build a culture focused on ownership, reliability, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure the integration and support needs of the various product engineering teams are satisfied, enabling faster delivery of sales‑experience‑specific business needs
  • Shape technical strategy and roadmaps that balance flexibility, reuse, and long‑term platform stability
  • Drive predictable, high‑quality delivery by championing modern engineering practices, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD
  • Partner closely with product, program, design, and architecture leaders to prioritize work and align platform capabilities with business needs
  • Own expectations for operational readiness, system health, and availability for systems that directly impact revenue
  • Collaborate with peer engineering leaders to deliver cohesive, scalable platform solutions used across the company
  • Identify and drive forward‑looking improvements, including the responsible use of AI tools to improve developer productivity and engineering effectiveness

Leadership Profile

  • A senior engineering leader with experience building and leading high‑performing teams, delivering shared platforms used across multiple business areas
  • Brings strong technical and product judgment, with experience building highly resilient, always‑on systems where availability, reliability, and rapid recovery are business‑critical
  • Operates with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, setting clear expectations for operational readiness, service ownership, and continuous improvement

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Computer Science preferred)
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • 5+ years leading software engineering teams

Preferred Experience

  • Microsoft Azure
  • Microservices and Kubernetes
  • Vue.js
  • .NET Core (C#)
  • Experience building or operating shared platforms or common services used by multiple teams

Working Conditions

This role operates in a professional office environment and uses standard collaboration tools and equipment.

This position is primarily in‑office, with an expectation of working on‑site four days per week.
