Job Summary:
This position is a member of the Gas Market Analytics team, which is responsible for market analysis, maintaining and building fundamental market models, short- and long-term balance and price forecasting using statistical and qualitative methodologies in support of gas and power trading activities. Excellent opportunity including on the job training and exposure to working with many groups within the organization including Trading, Origination, Structuring, and Sales. The position will be responsible for owning the fundamentals of a region within North America, providing analysis and research related to the region’s natural gas markets, including coverage of adjacent energy markets impacting the region. These activities include both short- and long-term analytics, research, developing market views, and actionable trade strategies in support of Market Operations and Gas Trading activities as well as Corporate strategies. The Junior Analyst will have a focus on report automation, data visualization, building analytical toolsets, and data management in support of the Gas Market Analytics team.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Track fundamental drivers for the North American natural gas markets and develop methods of communicating this information to the Gas Market Analytics team and internal clients.
- Assist in creation of proprietary views for the gas markets to provide internal clients with decision making information.
- Incorporate data visualization techniques to revamp reporting capabilities and develop market analysis tools to aid in short term strategic decision making and tactical trading opportunities.
- Advance data scraping and database capabilities with a focus on driving efficiency through automation of the reporting suite.
- Process market intelligence and fundamentals to support and recommend front office trade and hedging strategies (short term - 3 years).
- Operate and maintain simulation models to create short term and long-term balance and price forecasting for pipelines, storage facilities, and regional markets.
- Disseminate daily market briefs and reports to the Commercial, Operations, Sales, and Origination teams.
- Support groups across the company with natural gas intel, presentations, ad hoc analysis, and assist in providing Senior Management with materials for board meetings, earnings calls, investor day presentations, or other events as required.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics or related discipline from an accredited college or university (MBA/Masters preferred).
- Strong analytical, mathematical, process modeling, presentation and report preparation skills and experience.
- Proficiency with Excel required.
- Proficiency with at least one of the following tools: VBA, SQL tools, MATLAB, Python, R, Power BI

Preferred Qualifications:
- Natural gas experience a plus.
- Base knowledge of the natural gas markets is a plus.
- Excellent technical skills with proven ability to manage databases, perform web scraping, and leverage coding for report automation.
