Job Summary:
Promote and ensure quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the NRG fleet.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Create/develop quality process for outage work pertaining to contractors/vendors
- Formulate goals, objectives, policies, and systems enhancing QA/QC to improve performance for outage related activities across the fleet.
- Establish processes/relationships with contractors that build dual ownership to our outage success
- Generate processes/relationships with OEM’s to track quality related events for continuous improvement within repair shops, field site locations, and suppliers of all origins
- Create process specifications for our outage related activities for our procurement of outage related activities.
- Coordinate with customers’ auditors and ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications.
- Partner with Supply Chain Team to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
- Create and maintain controls and documentation of procedures.
- Monitor and report results for organizational transparency and continuous improvement.
- Monitor performance, gathering relevant data, collate and analyze for statistical reporting as required.
- Identify and deliver relevant quality-related training needs to enhance performance.
- Ensure quality action plans and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated.
- Provide leadership to technical staff to ensure the proper completion of quality tests, signoffs, check lists and processes.
- Facilitate comprehensive quality procedures with the agreement of all stakeholders.
- Monitor overall outage performance, identify improvement opportunities for lesson’s learned communications, training opportunities, and year over year continuous improvement.
- Formulate challenge reviews on work-scopes and quality action plans with vendors to improve execution and reliability
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid work environment with office opportunities in either, Houston, Pittsburgh or Princeton along with NRG Plant locations in the Midwest, East and Texas.
- Normal office and power plant environment.
- Some overtime required as special projects arise.
- Travel to plants, contractors/vendors, and corporate offices will be required.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 plus years of experience in Quality Assurance for customer product manufacturer.
- 5 plus years of experience in Quality Management and Quality Audit systems.
- A strong record of success in utilizing Quality Systems in manufacturing, engineering, supplier, or distributor environments.
- Requires valid state driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an applied science or engineering field is preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or similar quality focused program strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities.
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment.
- Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs to service / inspect turbine deck and work being performed.
- Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.).
- May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals.
The base salary range for this position is: $98,480 - 162,480 *The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition the position may be eligible to participate in the benefits program which include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending accounts.
