Job Summary:
Manages an efficient and safe Maintenance and project/construction Department to ensure maximum capability, availability, and generation at the lowest possible cost by effective long-range planning and efficient utilization of resources including capital and O&M budgets, station personnel, Contractors, and vendors. Provides leadership on process re-engineering initiatives to improve work force flexibility and Maintenance processes.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides direction and support in formulating overall station goals, station staffing, production strategy, budgets and future years Maintenance and capital requirements.
- Provides leadership and emphasizes importance of Safety and Environmental programs by monitoring completion of safety concerns, SSIP and incident investigation action items, attending required safety and environmental meetings, and supporting EKPI goals.
- Serves as member of plant leadership team and can act as temporary Plant Manager as needed.
- Supervises, Coaches, and Mentors salaried and hourly employees.
- Responsible for approval of departmental payroll on a weekly basis.
- Develops and oversees the total Station Maintenance and O&M project yearly budgets.
- Develops long-range budget projections and justifications for Maintenance and Capital requirements.
- Fulfills the role as outage authority during planned Scheduled Outages, Maintenance Outages and Forced Outages. Oversees pre-outage planning, work group assignments, contracts, work prioritization, and budget control.
- Accountable for all routine and emergency Station Maintenance activities. Provides leadership and support to Maintenance Supervisors/Planners to ensure work items are completed in a safe, timely and economical manner.
- Assures that all staff in the Maintenance Department are qualified and trained in compliance with all company and OSHA requirements.
- Oversees the performance of major Maintenance and station Capital Projects to assure on-time completion within budget.
- Oversees the work Management system.
- Oversees RCM and PDM programs.
- Implements root cause analysis recommendations that require Maintenance intervention.
- Performs inspections of equipment and Maintenance activities to verify compliance with regulatory and corporate required programs.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in Maintenance or Operations of a power plant (or related field) including a Supervisory role.
- Project and vendor management experience.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of power plant Operations including Technical and Maintenance practices.
- Proven Project Management skills
- Excellent Employee-Relations skills
- Ability to formulate and execute appropriate technical and business plans and objectives
- Basic to proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project or similar project scheduling or work Management software

Physical Requirements:
- This is a plant environment that requires active involvement in plant Operations for inspections, equipment assessment, investigations, and process evaluation, in addition to office work. Some inspections will require the ability to crawl through and negotiate areas of tight access and confined spaces.
- Plant environment has temperature extremes with moderately high noise levels. The ability to rapidly traverse a widely dispersed industrial site is desirable.
- Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, and to operate standard office equipment.
- The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and pulls drawers to retrieve file information and lifts and carries boxes that can weigh up to 50 lbs.
Please Note: The salary range for this role is $133,408.00 - $200,112.00. Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
