Vivint is seeking a PR Associate to join our Public Relations team. This role is essential in helping to shape and protect the public view of Vivint’s brand in all public-facing conversations across traditional and new media, social media, forums, and other key channels.

 

The ideal candidate is a clear and strategic communicator with an understanding of traditional and new media, brand voice, crisis response, media monitoring, and customer experience. They must be proactive, organized, and eager to build on a strong base of PR fundamentals while displaying a genuine passion and understanding of the importance of PR within an enterprise organization. This person should also be a strong written and verbal communicator who is digitally savvy, ready to jump into a fast-paced environment and begin contributing.

 

Key Responsibilities  

This position supports the PR team through media monitoring, outreach, reporting, project organization, and content creation, while partnering with cross‑functional teams on public‑facing messaging. The role also contributes to reporting, award submissions and tracking, crisis monitoring, and helping maintain a strong, consistent brand presence.

  • Operational Support: Support team initiatives, deadlines, and deliverables by tracking project status and deadlines, coordinating tasks, and maintaining team project boards. This will require regular and organized communication, check-ins, and tracking with other PR team members. 
  • Media Tracking and Analysis: Monitor daily company news and report notable coverage, emerging trends, and spikes in conversation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, social media, brand, and other key teams on public facing messaging and sensitive or high-priority issues.
  • Reporting and Insights: Provide regular reports on sentiment trends, reputation KPIs, and emerging risks or opportunities.
  • Crisis Monitoring: Support PR and Brand leadership during high-stakes or crisis situations with real-time monitoring and response coordination.
  • Content Development: Assist in creating and maintaining FAQ responses, email response templates, reports, and other similar content to support customers, address common questions, and promote positive brand messaging. This role will also assist in drafting company announcements, press releases, and statements. 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, or journalism
  • Foundational understanding of public relations principles, terminology, and industry standards
  • Professional experience in public relations and/or any of the following media relations, community relations, crisis communications, corporate communications, or similar disciplines
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of AI/LLMs and how they are influencing PR and Media
  • Understanding of brand voice and tone from customer and company viewpoints
  • Ability to manage and track multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High emotional intelligence and professionalism in handling sensitive topics
  • Eager, confident, and ready to take initiative on projects
  • Passionate about PR as a career – wants to learn and advance, create output and success, and positively and measurably impact the company

 

Preferred:

  • Experience using PR software and/or platforms
  • AP Style writing proficiency and/or knowledge
  • Experience in and writing on behalf of a consumer-facing tech or service industry
  • Familiarity with online forum, messaging, and social media platforms
  • Understanding of SEO and how media inclusions and online reviews impact search visibility and results
  • Experience with direct customer interaction/service
  • Experience in crisis communications
