Summer Internship Program

Our 10-week program is designed to increase future employment potential for prospects while providing a valuable resource to the business. This Summer Internship will appeal to proactive and self-motivated 3rd and 4th year students with a genuine desire to learn about the energy business and industry. During the internship, candidates will work on real projects and have real responsibilities. We aim to help students build strengths, gain skills that can be transferred to any workplace, and stand out from the crowd.

 

Ideal Candidate

This Intern role will support the sponsorship strategy team for Reliant energy. We are looking for self-driven, high-caliber individuals will support work on the company’s corporate sponsorship and strategy efforts in the Texas market. They will be responsible for supporting sponsorship marketing strategy and execution that support Texas Home business goals and objectives. Additionally, work closely with other teams to add value and insights to go to market planning. Must be able to think strategically and provide solutions that are in line with business objectives and priorities. 

This 10 week internship will provide a student exposure to sponsorship, brand strategy, community brand marketing, advertising, digital and web, data and marketing analytics.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and execution of integrated sponsorship programs working cross-functionally with key stakeholders to measure and deliver on program objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure successful planning and execution of programs building brand awareness and consideration, customer engagement and drive overall business goals.
  • Create and deliver presentation materials.
  • Social media strategy and influencer marketing
  • Project Management, administration and software training and development
  • Support the planning and execution of contractual benefits, customer promotions, on-site activities related to sponsorship and community partners.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategy to maximize use of sponsorship assets to enhance awareness for marketing and business objectives.
  • Support community focused programs associated with sponsorships that reach beyond the venues to create broader impact in the community.
  • Manage creative projects to develop creative for community and sponsorship partnerships that is on strategy, on target and on brand.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be based in the North Texas area, with hybrid work in the Plano office
    • Open office environment (hybrid in office Mon, Tues, Wednesday, Thurs and other days as needed)
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends to support on-site activity at events as needed. (~20%). 
  • Must be able to lift minimum 40 lbs.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Working to obtain a BA or BS in Marketing, Sports Management, Communications, Marketing or related field.
  • Must be going into your junior year with a 3.0 GPA or higher 
  • Expected to take initiative and work well in a fast-pace environment with multiple departments, projects, and deadlines.

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to think strategically and be solutions-oriented, providing recommendations for ways to solve issues as they arise.
  • Ability to multitask and perform in a deadline-sensitive environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Sets high expectations of self and work; self-motivated and resourceful; takes pride in delivering quality output at all stages of project.
