Job Summary:
The NRG Consumer Home Cross Functional Project Team is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex, large-scale, cross-functional initiatives across the Consumer Home portfolio. This role is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of strategic projects, including planning, execution, governance, financial management, risk mitigation, and executive-level communication.
The Senior Project Manager partners closely with senior business leaders, IT, and cross-functional delivery teams to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to defined business outcomes. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, highly organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, matrixed environment while managing ambiguity, risk, and competing priorities.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Delivery Ownership:
- Owns the end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional projects from initiation through stabilization and closeout.
- Develops project charters defining scope, objectives, success metrics, assumptions, constraints, and clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
- Leads integrated project planning across all phases, including requirements, design, build/configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
- Develops and maintains delivery roadmaps, detailed project plans, and milestone schedules across multiple workstreams and dependencies.
- Coordinates cross-functional resources to drive execution and resolve dependencies, constraints, and delivery risks.
- Demonstrates a hands-on leadership style and is willing to dive deep to resolve issues when required.
Governance, Risk and Financial & Change Management:
- Establishes and enforces project governance, controls, and standards to ensure consistent execution, transparency, and decision-making.
- Owns project-level budget, forecasting, financial tracking, and variance management.
- Identifies, assesses, and proactively manages project risks and issues; develops mitigation strategies and escalation plans with clear recommendations and trade-offs.
- Ensures adherence to approved scope and leads formal change control processes.
- Applies appropriate project management methodologies (waterfall or hybrid) based on project characteristics and delivery needs.
- Oversees requirements definition and approval processes, ensuring alignment and formal sign-off from all impacted business areas
- Maintains complete, accurate, and up-to-date project artifacts in accordance with established governance standards and is accountable for supporting project audits, including timely remediation of audit findings.
Stakeholder & Executive Management:
- Serves as the primary point of accountability for project stakeholders and executive sponsors.
- Prepares and delivers clear, executive-level status reporting, risk assessments, and decision materials.
- Manages stakeholder expectations, facilitates alignment, and navigates complex or difficult conversations to drive timely decisions.
- Builds strong, trusted relationships across business, IT, and external partners; acts as a central coordination hub.
- Coordinates with external vendors or delivery partners as applicable, ensuring alignment to project objectives, timelines, and quality expectations.
- Manages vendor dependencies and delivery risks in partnership with procurement and business stakeholders.
Business Value & Outcomes:
- Partners with business stakeholders to ensure projects remain aligned to intended business objectives and value.
- Tracks delivery against defined success metrics and supports post-implementation review and benefits realization, where applicable.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 8 years of project management experience delivering complex, enterprise-level initiatives
- Minimum 3–5 years leading large-scale, cross-functional projects
- Strong background in project planning, delivery governance, and financial management
- Demonstrated experience with waterfall project management (hybrid experience preferred)
- Proven ability to create and deliver executive-level reporting and communications
- Experience delivering technology integration and/or data migration initiatives

- Ability to confidently navigate difficult conversations and competing stakeholder interests
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Planner) and adaptability in using Enterprise PMM Tools
