Senior Manager, Integrated Value Propositions, Performance & Value Realization
NRG Consumer’s purpose is to make energy and security services accessible to everyone. The Consumer business unit operates NRG’s Smart Home (Vivint) and Retail Energy businesses, serving residential and small business customers. NRG Consumer is organized around three core P&Ls: Smart Home, Texas Energy, and East/West Energy. The Integrated Value Propositions (IVP) & Strategic Initiatives team supports NRG Consumer’s enterprise growth agenda by designing, activating, and scaling integrated value propositions that leverage the combined strengths of NRG Consumer’s energy and smart home portfolio.
Role Overview
The Senior Manager, Integrated Value Performance & Value Realization plays a critical leadership role in ensuring NRG Consumer’s integrated value propositions deliver on their approved business cases, performance expectations, and strategic intent.
Integrated value propositions are one of the primary ways NRG’s enterprise strategy becomes real for customers. This role ensures those strategies deliver measurable value, that leaders have clear visibility into performance, and that the organization can course correct quickly and confidently when results deviate from expectations.
This role serves as the performance “nerve center” for integrated offers; providing end-to-end visibility into results versus expectations, translating performance signals into actionable insights, and driving data-backed recommendations to course correct and optimize outcomes.
While this role does not own day-to-day program execution or individual initiatives, it partners closely with Integrated Value Proposition (IVP) leads, FP&A, Product, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to ensure enterprise leaders have clarity on what is working, what is not, and what decisions or actions are required to close gaps to target. This role exists to elevate performance, sharpen decisions, and ensure value realization across the portfolio.
What This Role Does
- Drives Value Realization: Ensures integrated offers deliver measurable financial and customer outcomes aligned to approved business cases, forecasts, and strategic priorities.
- Acts as the Performance Nerve Center: Establishes a single, integrated view of performance across all IVP initiatives, surfacing insights, risks, and opportunities.
- Connects Strategy to Results: Translates performance data into clear insights, decision points, and recommended actions for senior leadership.
- Leads Without Owning Execution: Influences cross-functional teams to drive course correction and optimization without direct program ownership.
- Measures What Matters: Focuses on outcomes: revenue, margin, ROI, customer impact, adoption, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the ongoing tracking of integrated offers against approved business cases, forecasts, and success metrics.
- Maintain, update, and refine business cases as initiatives evolve ensuring assumptions, risks, and upside/downside scenarios are transparent.
- Identify gaps to target performance and quantify root causes across product, GTM, operations, or customer experience.
- Translate complex performance signals into clear insights, recommendations, and decision options for IVP leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Develop data-backed course correction plans in partnership with IVP leads, FP&A, Product, Marketing, and Operations.
- Elevate tradeoffs, risks, and required decisions with clarity, speed, and financial rigor.
- Create high-quality materials for leadership updates, initiative reviews, and strategic planning discussions.
- Create and own integrated performance dashboards, scorecards, and executive-ready materials that provide a single source of truth.
- Establish consistent performance management rhythms (reviews, deep dives, leadership readouts) across all integrated offers.
- Ensure alignment between operational performance, financial results, and enterprise commitments.
- Partner closely with IVP initiative leads to support performance optimization without owning execution.
- Collaborate with FP&A to ensure alignment between actuals, forecasts, and external commitments.
- Work across Product, Marketing, Sales, Technology, and Operations to connect performance outcomes to real actions.
- Influence leaders through insight, credibility, and clarity rather than authority.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in strategy, performance management, finance, consulting, product analytics, or business operations
- Proven experience owning or supporting business cases, forecasts, and performance management for complex initiatives
- Strong financial and analytical acumen with the ability to connect data to decisions
- Experience influencing cross-functional teams in large, matrixed organizations
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; ability to create executive-level narratives and insights
Key Skills & Attributes
- Enterprise-level thinker with strong judgment and bias toward outcomes
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving clarity where none exists
- Credible partner to senior leaders; confident challenging assumptions with data
- Strong storyteller, able to translate complex analysis into clear, compelling recommendations
- Highly collaborative, low-ego, and effective without formal authority
