Job Summary: 

Green Mountain Energy seeks an experienced Market & Segment Strategy Senior Manager with strong business acumen and leadership skills that will focus on the acquisition strategy of new customers. This position is full-time located in Houston. The role will collaborate closely with other Market Strategy Managers, Sales Performance team, Marketing team and cross-functional groups to identify business problems and provide data-driven solutions to optimize Green Mountain Energy’s Acquisition strategies in all our markets across the US.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Drive and develop market strategies to increase consideration and achieve competitive advantage utilizing market assessments, customer research, competitive analysis, marketplace trends and growth opportunities
  • Work closely with Marketing to identify segments/personas in each market and determine best ways to target based on overall impact to Green Mountain Energy
  • Define and own goals and key performance metrics for Acquisition; monitor regularly to understand effectiveness of strategy, making recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of Go-to-Market strategies and major market initiatives
  • Provide strategic brief for Marketing Communications to drive awareness, consideration and eventually purchase with Green Mountain Energy across all markets as well as inform creative and communication strategy
  • Stay informed of current market trends and competitive developments within both retail electricity and renewable space in order to continually enhance strategic position
  • Collaborate across sales channel teams, offer/revenue teams and digital teams in order to bring Go-to-market acquisition strategy to life across all touchpoints in order to achieve top line goals for Green Mountain Energy
  • Collaborate with GME Go-To-Market Retention team to ensure consistency across prospect/customer journeys
  • Coordinate with product innovation team to lead strategy of new product launches across channels and markets
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Working Conditions:

  • Open office environment
  • Some overtime required as special projects arise
  • Travel (minimal)


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • Minimum 3 years in retail electricity industry – preferably ERCOT/TX market
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience in Strategic Marketing or Business Strategy Position
  • Proven experience in developing go-to-market strategies for consuming facing products or services
  • Proven background in results delivery and optimizing business performance based on set KPIs or goals


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous marketing or marketing agency experience


Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experienced in using performance measurement/data visualization to report performance to executive leadership (i.e. PowerBI)
  • Self-starter with excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and organizations
  • Alignment with Green Mountain sustainability and renewable mission
