Job Summary:
NRG operates a diverse portfolio of sales channels across multiple markets. The overall objective of the role is to build and develop strategic channel partners. The associate will work closely with external partners and all internal business units and teams, including NRG leadership. This role is responsible for the tactical implementation of all marketing plans, sales initiatives, and channel results.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop new channel partnerships for NRG
- Build and develop the strategic business development pipeline
- Prospect potential strategic partners
- Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize sales
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting internal and external partner relationships to drive account productivity
- Perform market/competitive analysis and determine partner fit within organization
- Develop and present pitch presentations to potential partners and NRG leadership teams
- Develop business cases to justify partnership programs by preparing reports with metrics such as sales, COA, ROI, etc.
- Collaborate with various internal teams to identify and grow account opportunities
- Work cross functionally to successfully execute various projects and tasks assigned
- Work with sales managers to develop business plans including sales projections, systems requirements, training specifications, staffing plans, presentation flows and scripting
- Liaise with sales operations team to disseminate information related to marketing/promotions, facilities maintenance, and any field related activity
- Ability to network and attend networking events, and conferences
- Ability to entertain clients to establish relationships and grow network
Working Conditions:
- Open office environment
- Hybrid (3 days in office if located in Houston)
- Client entertainment
- 20-30% Travel
Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, entrepreneurship, or other relative field required
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years in business development, sales, marketing or account management
- Proven experience with establishing new client relationships (B2C) and account management required
- Proven marketing and creative thinking experience preferred
- C-Suite stakeholder management and leadership presentable

- Thorough understanding of direct marketing process flow; able to identify needs/gaps and formulate solutions
- Approaches issues and problems through teamwork and collaborative efforts
- Listens and accords respect to divergent points-of-view
- Able to work effectively on a team composed of people with diverse backgrounds
- Superior written and verbal business communication skills
- Able to clearly and concisely explain results of complex issues to non-technical decision-makers
- Proficient with standard office workstation technology, including Microsoft Office suite of software tools
