Job Summary: 

 

As a learning and development professional applying for this position, you will work within a team of other instructional designers and learning specialists to support the creation and enhancement of engaging learning experiences across technical and non-technical teams, primarily within a customer support or contact center environment supporting multiple sites in different regions.

 

The ideal candidate will have between 3+ years of experience in instructional design and eLearning development, with a focus on analyzing learner needs, designing and developing fully virtual eLearning and curricula, as well as methods for evaluating training effectiveness.

 

 The ideal candidate will also work with subject matter experts (SMEs), cross-functional teams, and leadership to ensure learning solutions align with business goals. Project management skills are essential to this role, along with the ability to work independently or in teams. Familiarity with Power BI, Power Automate, and AI-enhanced tools like Storyline, Vyond, or Copilot is a plus.

 

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Ability to apply instructional design principles and adult learning theories, such as ADDIE, SAM, BLOOMS, and others, to produce interactive, innovative, and accessible learning experiences.
  • Design and develop engaging, learner-centered training content using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Vyond, Adobe Creative Suite, and other instructional design applications when necessary.
  • Having working knowledge of using xAPI, various SCORM profiles, and cmi5 to create engaging eLearning content.

  • Create a variety of content types, including microlearning modules, large-scale curricula, one-shot eLearning courses, product training, traditional classroom learning, and blended learning experiences.
  • Conduct needs assessments and performance gap analyses to define learning objectives and recommend appropriate instructional strategies.
  • Collaborate with managers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate sometimes complex information into clear, effective learning materials such as job aids, eLearning modules, and hybrid training solutions.

  • Use available tools and technologies to enhance content with graphics, animations, videos, and simulations that support diverse learning styles.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs using learner feedback, performance data, and instructional metrics; and revise content and future development as needed to improve outcomes.
  • Stay current with industry trends such as gamification, microlearning, AI in learning and development, and virtual training platforms, and integrate these innovations into learning solutions.
  • Design and implement assessments, tutorials, job aids, and social learning strategies to reinforce knowledge retention and application.
  • Function as an LMS administrator when necessary and manage and maintain content within a Learning Management System (LMS), including course uploads, assignments, user management, and reporting.

  • Utilize project management methodologies to plan, execute, and deliver learning projects on time and within scope, while identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Deliver “train-the-trainer” sessions and facilitate in-person or virtual training as needed.
  • Build and maintain internal learning sites and learner dashboards using SharePoint to centralize access to training resources and track learner engagement.
  • Having work knowledge on how to use Power BI or Power Automate to create dashboards, automated flows to aid the learning experience, and visual reporting to analyze training effectiveness, learner progress, and business impact of learning programs.

 

Working Conditions:

 

·      Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities.

·      Fast-paced, Retail Call Center environment.

·      Much of the work of this position is performed on a personal computer in a seated position.

·      Ability to travel to work locations to support training projects/curriculum development when needed.

·      Weekend work, extended hours, and flexible work schedules may be required.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

·      A bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, e-Learning, or a related field, such as Education, is preferred, or a specified equivalent number of years of experience.

·      Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in a Learning and development or instructional design role, with an applicable degree or certification, or 4+ years of professional work experience without a degree.

·      Demonstrated history in designing, building, and deploying eLearning modules using software like Articulate Storyline, Vyond, and other L&D-related applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

·      Candidate should have comprehensive knowledge of current instructional theories and principles, including the ADDIE model, the SAM model, and Bloom’s Taxonomy, applicable to both eLearning content and instructor-led learning programs.

·      Knowledge of using xAPI, cmi5 and JavaScript within Articulate Storyline and other tools

·      Excellent computer skills, including all MS Office applications.

·      Above average proficiency in Articulate Storyline 360 suite, Vyond Studio, Adobe Creative Suite, and a good understanding of sound editing software is required.

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

·      Certifications in Training, Curriculum Developer, or Instructional Design are a plus, but not required.

·      High level of honesty and integrity with a strong work ethic

·      Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

·      Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

·      Ability to thrive in both collaborative team settings and independent work environments.

·      Experience utilizing Kirkpatrick’s 4-Level Assessment for training curricula.
