Job Summary

 

We are seeking a highly technical and detail-oriented Marketing Cloud Developer / Email Automation Specialist to support our growing B2B marketing efforts in the energy sector. This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years of hands-on experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud who thrives on building sophisticated, data-driven email journeys that engage business customers across complex sales cycles. As a key member of our marketing team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing automated customer journeys and lifecycle campaigns tailored to our partners, customers, and stakeholders. You’ll collaborate closely with marketing, IT, and operations teams to ensure seamless data integration, campaign execution, and performance tracking. This is a hands-on, technical role that blends marketing strategy with platform expertise.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimize complex email journeys using Salesforce Marketing Cloud’s Journey Builder to support customer lifecycle
  • Translate business requirements into dynamic journey logic, incorporating decision splits, wait times, entry sources, and goal tracking to deliver personalized, timely communications
  • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to ensure accurate data integration, API connectivity, and CRM alignment for journey triggers and personalization
  • Develop and maintain scalable lifecycle automations using Email Studio, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, and Audience Builder, ensuring consistency across multiple business units
  • Architect and manage data extensions, contact models, and subscriber key strategies to support enterprise-level implementations and segmentation accuracy
  • Build and customize cloud-based landing pages and forms using HTML, CSS, and AMPscript to support journey entry points and user interactions
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, data filters, and automation logic for precise audience targeting, file imports/exports, and journey entry criteria
  • Conduct thorough QA testing on email content, HTML, journey configurations, and automation workflows to ensure flawless execution and inbox deliverability
  • Monitor and troubleshoot existing journeys and automations, escalating issues and coordinating with stakeholders for timely resolution
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from internal teams regarding email communications, segmentation, and automation performance
  • Track, analyze, and interpret key performance metrics (e.g., open rates, click-through rates, conversions, retention) to provide actionable insights and optimize journey effectiveness
  • Continuously refine segmentation strategies and personalization tactics to improve targeting, engagement, and lifecycle communication relevance
  • Build and edit responsive emails using HTML or Content Builder as needed to support campaign execution and journey content

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud in a technical marketing role
  • Strong proficiency in Email Studio, Automation Studio, Journey Builder, Contact Builder, and related tools
  • Technical proficiency in HTML/CSS for email development; working knowledge of SQL is a plus
  • Experience with multi-business unit and enterprise-level Marketing Cloud implementations
  • Experience in the energy industry or B2B marketing environment is strongly preferred
