Job Summary: 

 

As Senior Natural Gas Trader, you will be a key player in DEML’s wholesale trading operations supporting our commercial and residential sales business across Canada.  You will leverage market intelligence, analytics, and strategic relationships to execute trades that maximize profitability and manage risk.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Execute physical and financial natural gas trades across Canadian markets
  • Work with scheduling and operations to ensure accurate and timely trade execution.
  • Coordinate efforts with US entity.
  • Maintain accurate trade records and ensure compliance with internal and external policies
  • Monitor market trends, pipeline flows, weather impacts, and regulatory changes
  • Develop and implement trading strategies to optimize asset value and margin
  • Negotiate deals with counterparties, pipeline operators, and storage facilities
  • Pursue, negotiate and execute Asset Management Agreements
  • Provide market insights and performance updates to commercial and residential Sales teams
  • Must be able to collaborate and align culture with strategy

  • Occasional weekend and holiday on call rotation

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
  • 5 or more years of experience in natural gas trading in Canadian markets
  • Deep understanding of AECO, Dawn and regional supply/demand dynamics
  • Knowledge of Canadian Pipelines including Enbridge West Coast, NGTL and TransCanada Canadian Mainline.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills under pressure
  • Proficiency in trading platforms (ICE), Excel, and data visualization tools

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge of Direct/NRG Operations ETRM Systems
