Summer Internship Program

Our 16-week program is designed to increase future employment potential for prospects while providing a valuable resource to the business. This Summer Internship will appeal to proactive and self-motivated college juniors/seniors with a genuine desire to learn about the energy business and industry. During the internship, candidates will work on real projects and have real responsibilities. NRG aims to help candidates build strengths, gain skills that can be transferred to any workplace, and stand out from the crowd. 

 

Ideal Candidate 

This Intern role within the organization is a Business Planning and Performance Analyst (aka FP&A) based in Calgary, AB or Edmonton, AB. Are you a university student in Canada with a passion for finance and analytics? We are looking for a motivated FP&A Intern to join our team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, while working closely with our experienced FP&A professionals. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your analytical skills, learn about strategic financial decision-making, and contribute to real business outcomes. If you are eager to learn, detail-oriented, and excited about a career in finance, we want to hear from you!

 

Business Sales Intern Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support business decisions
  • Prepare and present financial reports
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecast
  • Identify and communicate financial risks and opportunities
  • Analyze the trends of key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Develop and continually improve budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecasts
  • Ad-hoc business performance reporting
  • Process mapping and documentation to standardize planning and performance tasks
  • Data mining and data visualization of financial results

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree discipline: Business / Finance / Accounting /
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
