Basic Job Functions:


Position will manage NRG Renewables warranty processes.  Communicate, track, analyze and create strategies associated with NRG asset warranties.  Assure best warranty management practices are being followed, audit contract execution warranty management activities on a periodic basis and provide recommendations on how to improve activities/practices, manage vendor warranty claims, provide recommendations on structuring contracts such that contract wording ensures adequate warranty coverage, collect warranty cost data, analyze same and based on analysis, provide recommendations on continuous improvements in practices, processes and organization.

Lead and maintain a constant dialogue between NRG Engineering, Legal, Procurement, Operations and Maintenance, and Asset Management surrounding current and future warranty claims along with risks and strategy to improve over-all equipment performance.

Possess technical expertise and be capable of sharing with team members and vendors.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities


  • Manage warranty claims associated with NRG wind and solar assets.
  • Develop and maintain detailed reports and presentations covering the current warranty status of wind and solar assets as well as company exposure to availability issues and lost revenue.
  • Integrate warranty process in to SAP
  • Ensure appropriate reporting on claim processes to management
  • Ensure alignment of processes with internal and external stakeholders on warranty status.
  • Conduct lessons learned and proactively initiate preventive actions
  • Responsible for internal warranty projects and strategies
  • Possess the ability to understand legal, commercial and technical issues in details and to negotiate with vendors in a trustworthy atmosphere




  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in operations support role in development of creative solutions to operating challenges.
  • Successful Candidate with have a proven track record with warranty extension’s and have negotiated win/win terms and conditions.
  • Ability to cooperate efficiently across multiple professional disciplines, while creating results though team work as well as independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an honest open communication style.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to work well in a matrix work environment with little supervision.
  • Ability to travel and work overtime on short notice.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Project, Word and proven ability to learn new software programs.
