Systems Development and Support: 

 

Philosophically, systems must be built to support business operations and should be designed to optimize the value drivers of the organization; As a part of the Operational Excellence Function, the Sr. Metrics/Systems Analyst will have overall responsibility for business systems and be responsible to:

 

  • Actively support all business units to drive the effective selection, development, implementation and integration of tools and platforms to optimize business activities and make meaningful business intelligence/reporting possible.  
  • Serve as chair of the Business Systems Committee and will be the primary liaison with the IT department to ensure that systems needs are accurately represented, presented and advocated in an integrated and cohesive manner and aligned with the business initiatives in the Best in Class Program.
  • Play an active role in defining and mapping system & database architecture to ensure that business data resides in the optimal location, and can be added, modified & accessed by the appropriate parties across the organization.
  • Directly manage consultants, indirectly manage & unify IT resources and business functional representatives toward common objectives. 
  • Play an active role in SharePoint Development- Document Management, Work Management, Workflow 
  • Contribute and collaborate closely with both the Standards & Continuous Improvement Functions within the Operational Excellence team to swiftly build, implement, and improve an integrated and “Best in Class” platform.

 

Metrics Development & Support: As a part of the Operational Excellence Function, the Sr. Metrics/Systems Analyst will have overall responsibility for business metrics and will be responsible to:

 

  • Actively support the business in defining, memorializing, & maintaining metrics, reports & dashboards used across the organization to optimize activities
  • Directly manage consultants, indirectly manage & partner with business functional representatives to ensure that metrics are consistent and integrated with the program
  • Contribute and collaborate closely with both the Standards & Continuous Improvement Functions within the Operational Excellence team analyze & visualize data in an actionable way that allows for the identification of themes & trends and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Maintain document templates for key business and technical documents used across the organization and externally.
  • Provide first-level quality control and accuracy working with various NRG groups to ensure accepted document management standards are followed.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the document management processes and system(s) as the System of Record for documents across NRG Renew’s business groups and external partners.
  • Assist in the evaluation of document management tools and actively participate in pilot programs to evaluate those tools.
  • Assist in preparation and implementation of archival retention programs.
  • Train department personnel and temporary employees on the document management systems/tools.
  • Contribute to developing standards and procedures relating to the operation of the filing programs.
  • Processes records requests for both internal and external customers.
  • Prepares identified records for external (vendors) viewing
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Recognize and document business process gaps and propose improvements.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of the Document Management Process.
  • Ensure that project documents are collected and stored as projects reach important development, construction, and operational milestone.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong understanding of Metrics, Systems, & Databases.
  • Coding experience to include SQL (T-SQL preferred), Python and Visual Basic.
  • Experience working with relational databases (Microsoft projects preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead cross functional teams both directly and indirectly
  • Hands on experience in the development of metrics, KPI’s and overall business intelligence architecture.
  • Expertise in business intelligence systems such as Power BI (Preferred), Tableau, Spotfire, SSRS or a similar suite of tools.
  • Project management experience: Waterfall and Agile
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills with a strong focus on customer interaction, customer service, and presentation.
  • A motivated self-starter with the capability to operate independently and collaboratively in-line with an enterprise vision. Ability to see big picture and relate to corporate strategies.

  • Understanding of Document Management / Corporate Library methodologies and processes
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a business analyst or administrative role.  Working in Technology industry is a plus.
  • Understanding and familiarity with an array of technology such as Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills with a strong focus on customer interaction, customer service, and presentation.
  • A motivated self-starter with capability to operate on their own with little direction and/or monitoring along with an enterprise vision – ability to see big picture and relate to corporate strategy
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
  • Understanding and familiarity with an array technology such as Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint and various document management systems.
