Title: Procurement Director 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate strategic sourcing initiative for the procurement of modules, inverters and other major equipment.
  • Create, manage, and maintain relationships with key suppliers within the solar and renewable energy markets.
  • Provide oversight of programs, policies, and procedures that define supply chain management responsibilities.
  • Coordinate reports to senior management on performance of the supply chain process and its impact on the company overall and insure that compliance to company processes is maintained.
  • Communicate with other department personnel, internal company contacts and outside contacts to remain informed of supply chain needs and status of current projects throughout NRG Renewables.
  • Coordinate process for apprising management of significant activities, including problems, and recommends resolution activities.
  • Coordinate negotiation of terms and conditions on selected key contracts and/or delegates negotiation responsibilities to appropriate purchasing department personnel, resolve disputes with suppliers as necessary, and affect appropriate vendor relationships.
  • Ensure timely resolution to issues and problems.
  • Create, manage, and maintain relationships with key suppliers within the solar and renewable energy markets.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Experience working with PV module manufacturers preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating EPC agreements is required.
  • Knowledge of SAP systems or similar ERP application is required.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to set direction for staff and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to address multiple activities simultaneously.
  • At least five (5) years of progressive Procurement management experience, preferably with history of leading teams in multiple locations.
  • Familiarity with certification and standards organizations applicable to the technical requirements for renewable energy system design (wind, solar, storage, DG etc.) is required.
  • Ability to travel throughout the US and internationally.
  • Renewable Energy specific experience and an extensive network of energy vendor relationships are highly valued but not required.
