Job Summary: 

  • Provide modeling, forecasting and analytical support on corporate cash flow forecasting and valuation modeling


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical support (financial modeling, valuation, sensitivity analysis) to corporate FP&A activities
  • Develop, maintain and/or review complex financial models to support decision making for future investments and business performance measures
  • Work closely with business units, tax, accounting, various technical teams and advisors to prepare detailed forecast of profit and loss, cash flows and balance sheets
  • Responsible for ensuring that all assumptions and modeling are appropriate and reasonable, while ensuring that the model accurately reflects the terms and conditions of the key project documents as well as corporate cash flow forecast, budgets and guidance
  • Assist in determination of key value drivers of segment cash flows and business valuations
  • Prepare, and summarize recommendations to be presented to senior management
  • Assist in providing data for NRG earnings releases and other corporate functions
  • Assist in providing regular updates of key corporate valuation metrics including performing financial analysis to determine present and future financial performance
  • Complete ad-hoc projects and create reports as needed
  • Work in high-pressure dynamic environment with aggressive multiple deadlines


Working Conditions:

  • Open office environment.
  • Some overtime required as special projects arise.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in finance and/or accounting or comparable business field required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong quantitative skills with a finance or statistical background needed; knowledge of GAAP principles, tax rules, electricity pricing fundamentals very valuable
  • Ability to work in a results-oriented, project-driven, fast-paced, real-time team environment, prioritize projects and deliver quality results within tight time constraints
  • Aggressive self-starter with an attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in an open office team setting and matrix organization


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or CFA strongly preferred.
