Responsibilities:

  • Identify and execute fundamental congestion strategies in the respective region.
  • Develop bidding strategies for participation in FTR (Financial Transmission Rights) auctions in MISO and in adjacent markets.
  • Support portfolio optimization activities in MISO  
  • Work with staff to improve NRG’s position in the MISO market, including participation in market regulatory and policy directions.
  • Partner with other business units and/or departments to identify and facilitate business process improvements.
  • Maintain compliance with all related corporate and industry trading policies, codes of conduct and Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, or other relevant degree required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience trading power basis in US markets and participating in FTR auctions
  • Experience with power flow models (e.g. UPLAN, Powerworld, Dayzer, PROMOD) required.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to make decisions quickly required.
