Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will oversee general accounting operations by preparing financial statements, reports, and records through collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings such as Forms 10-Q and 10-K, including preparation of work paper support for prime financial statements, footnotes, management discussion and analysis, and external auditor compliance checklists
  • Utilize financial reporting software to create, maintain and update reporting templates and data queries
  • Actively research new and existing accounting literature to ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards, including preparation of documentation for appropriate accounting and disclosure of complex business transactions and events
  • Assist in compiling support for quarterly and annual earnings press releases and presentations for investors and analysts
  • Support various aspects of the external audit, including managing audit requests to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements
  • Document internal control procedures and assist internal audit with periodic testing to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and controls pertaining to the financial reporting process
  • Assist with reviews of stand-alone financial statements prepared by the regional accounting teams
  • Compile information/data for governmental census surveys, as required on an annual or quarterly basis
  • Assist with special projects involving financial deliverables and ad hoc reporting as needed

 

Working Conditions:

  • Open office environment.
  • May occasionally be required to work nights and/or weekends to meet quarterly and annual reporting deadlines
  • Required overnight travel less than 10-15%

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Accounting (In lieu of an Accounting degree, a Bachelor’s degree in a similar field of study COMBINED with 4 years of experience as a Corporate or Public Accountant may be considered)
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Corporate Accounting
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting  and reporting principles
  • Knowledge of general ledger and reporting software
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP, HFM, and Wdesk
  • Three plus years of SEC reporting experience
