Summary:   The Internal Controls intern is primary responsible for performing assessment of internal controls by following the Company’s adopted assessment approach under the guidance of an experience Internal Controls staff.   Other responsibilities include assisting with executing internal control procedures designed to support the business.  

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of the Company’s control assessment approach, methodology & tools
  • Review business and IT policies, procedures and guidance to obtain understanding of the Company’s operating environment
  • Apply concepts of risk assessment
  • Perform assessment of internal control over financial reporting
  • Corroborate with the Internal Controls team in strengthen testing procedures use to assess internal controls
  • Corroborate with the Internal Controls team to provide recommendations for improved controls and enhanced business efficiency
  • Establish working relationships with client personnel
  • Exhibit a professional, business-like demeanor
  • Other attest related support and SOX assessment status reporting responsibilities

 

Education:  Pursuing of bachelor degree relevant to Internal Controls (e.g. IT, Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field).  Completion of sophomore year or higher preferred.

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Develop excellent professional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
  • Ability to conduct interviews with SOX owners and control operators
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft’s  Outlook, Word and Excel

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities
  • Ability to use computer keyboard and office equipment
