Clearway Energy Inc. is seeking an Associate to support our Corporate Finance and M&A teams in a variety of strategic activities, including: corporate capital issuance, project financing, acquisitions, divestitures and equity investments. The position is a highly-visible role working with all levels of the organization.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed financial models for potential capital issuance and M&A transactions
  • Participate in all aspects of due diligence activities, including coordinating with operations, environmental, legal, tax and accounting teams to validate assumptions
  • Create investment memoranda and presentations for executive management and the board of directors
  • Assist with transaction negotiations and legal documentation
  • Support the origination, structuring and execution of corporate and project-level debt and equity issuance
  • Provide regular updates of key corporate valuation metrics including performing financial analysis to determine present and future financial performance
  • Prepare financial models and presentations in support of meetings with Ratings Agencies and both external equity and credit investors
  • Conduct research and analysis to screen and qualify potential M&A opportunities

Preferred Background

  • 2-4 years of investment banking, private equity, corporate development, corporate finance or management consulting experience
  • BA / BS from a top university in Finance/Economics/Business/Accounting, or a similarly quantitative /analytical field
  • Experience in energy, infrastructure or commercial real estate is preferred, but not required

 Qualifications

  • Highly proficient with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advanced financial modeling (developing and auditing) and valuation skills
  • Experience with multitasking various projects effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to formulate and articulate viewpoints (written and verbal) in a clear, succinct manner
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting and demonstrated experience reading / interpreting financial statements
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Driven, self-starter with a passion for excellence
  • Ability to travel (management presentations and site visits)
  • May require extended hours
