NRG Business Solutions manages a broad portfolio of competitively priced product and service offerings that can be tailored to meet the growing energy and sustainability needs of regional and national partners.  In delivering these important capabilities, NRG Business Solutions is responsible for orchestrating product development, origination, structuring, negotiation, construction and the implementation of solutions for retail and wholesale customers. 

 

Job Summary

 

The Analyst will support the Director of Renewable Strategy and Origination across various activities with a heavy focus on renewable energy solutions for NRG clients.  The role requires a combination of excellent communication skills and advanced analytical capabilities.  The Analyst will interact with a diverse team, including sales, management, sustainability specialists, industry segment specialists, as well as customers and partners. Some of the business units the Analyst will support have a start-up like an environment that will require dedication and agility from team members.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects and coordinate work efforts
  • Collect, analyze, and present data in order to communicate complex concepts in conversations and presentations with external clients and internal decision makers
  • Create economic models and perform statistical analysis to support the development and evaluation of complex energy transactions and deal structures
  • Serve as a problem-solver with a “customer-first” mentality by identifying the needs of business customers and devising innovative ways to meet those needs
  • Support the Director of Renewable Strategy and Origination by providing time-critical analysis for new, incremental and existing business opportunities

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related field of study
  • Exceptional communication (verbal, written) skills
  • Complex modeling and economic analysis skills
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Self-motivated and driven

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Two years of work experience
  • Experience with complex structured transactions and concepts including options, derivatives, hedging strategies, and risk analysis
  • Experience with community solar or utility-scale renewable energy projects
