This position is responsible for providing technical and administrative support of electrical and instrumentation maintenance programs to maintain the safest, most efficient, reliable generation. Working in a Power Plant Environment – in and around large rotating equipment, energized electrical equipment, the selected candidate is accountable for the planning and scheduling of all electrical maintenance activities, including planned and unplanned outages. Coordinating or ordering materials for corrective work orders/PMs/CBM/outage activities, work plans, assigned Maintenance Technician schedules, maintenance contract management, inventory review, supports, and directs Maintenance team members to successful and compliant outcomes. The incumbent provides integral leadership within the maintenance department and the power plant, to promote competitive and innovative work practices that achieve high quality equipment operation and reliability.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 years' experience in a power plant or industrial facility as an electrician or instrument technician.   Must have experience and knowledge of control principles and AC/DC circuits with a strong background in electrical and instrument control areas, large motors, compressors, transformers, motor control centers, switchgear,
  • SAP experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years power plant maintenance supervision and/or industrial electrical maintenance supervision experience.
  • Strong DCS experience, Bailey Infi 90/Symphony, a huge plus
  • Power plant experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedules and directs the daily maintenance work process to ensure the safe and effective use of manpower and the timely completion of prioritized work. Must analyze problems and operating deficiencies and determine repairs required, operating procedures to be followed while repairs are being made, and specific procedures to be followed by the crews performing the repairs.
  • Process Sap Notifications into work orders for all planned/corrective/PM/PdM/CBM/outage work, and supervise contractor work assignments in your area of responsibility.  Developing weekly plans out six weeks.
  • Active Leadership and participation in the Plants Safety Committee process.
  • Support priority needs on an environmental nature, including on an emergency basis.
  • Instructs subordinates in safe work practices, enforces Company safety rules and regulations, investigates accidents and reviews accident reports, and conduct daily safety briefings.
  • Evaluate assigned personnel training, schedule needed training as needed, and observe Technician work accomplishment.
  • Provide the Maintenance Manager budgetary estimates for recurring maintenance work, including planned outage work scopes utilizing past history/contractor and vendor estimates/personnel work loading/and backlog management.
  • Develops work scopes as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Identifies and orders parts and material required for all work orders, assigned projects and outage maintenance established in SAP plans, notifications, and OEM recommendations.
  • Coordinates and integrates datelined schedules and cost into maintenance plans for review, discussion, and approval.
  • Reviews and Evaluates plant engineering drawings and plant technical manuals to determine maintenance best practices.
  • Estimate job requirements including; labor hours for each craft, material needs and other job requirements.
  • Provides updates on outage activities to ensure cost and schedule compliance.
  • Provides fast response for support to plant operations for forced outage repairs.
  • Compiles and maintains data on work progress for maintenance performance to feedback continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain database information specifically using SAP and Excel.
  • Maintains proper documentation on all maintenance activities and establishes reports and recommendations for future improvement projects.
  • Manage the electrical and instrumentation SAP Work Order backlog.  Provide weekly updates for Operations prioritization, then compliant Technician scheduling.
  • Keeps management informed of situations that could affect plant operation and reliability.
  • Maintains records on plant equipment and systems in order to analyze future maintenance requirements.
  • Initiates requisitions in SAP for an adequate inventory of spare parts, needed materials to accomplish all backlog work, supplies and tooling to efficiently complete scheduled assignments.
  • Provide leadership and actively participate in Human Performance (error reduction) initiatives.
  • Demonstrate a detailed working knowledge of the current CBA, analyzes minor union problems, handles first step grievances, and takes corrective action when justified. The position uses good human relation’s techniques to maintain a harmonious and productive atmosphere among all subordinates.
  • Must be proficient in SAP, including developing notifications, orders, requisitions, purchase orders and equipment history.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Power plant environment - includes working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures and high humidity areas at generating unit work location; in and around large rotating equipment, energized electrical equipment, transformers, motor control centers and switchgear; high noise areas; elevations in excess of 250 feet; confined places; ash and coal areas.
  • Requires operation of a motor vehicle, valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License required.
  • Requires standing, lifting, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment.
  • Overtime and non-standard work hours are required.
  • Performance of duties requires response to calls 24/7/365.
