Position Summary:


The Senior Analyst will analyze the client’s power and gas consumption data to determine the products and services offered by NRG Advisory Services that best fit the customer, along with the associated value proposition. Customers will be medium to large Commercial and Industrial segment and will include complex and/or multi-site accounts. Evaluations will be primarily focused on electricity and natural gas supply purchasing and management, but will also include demand response, peak load management, renewable energy, distributed energy resources, energy efficiency, and sustainability.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Work with sales and client to strategize the ideal energy procurement and management structure
  • Analyze client’s power and gas consumption data for available services
  • Lead and manage RFPs for client projects and energy pricing
  • Facilitate daily procurement activities with network of suppliers while leveraging the Advisory Services Analyst and Operations team to support
  • Create proposals and supporting analysis for presentation to clients
  • Negotiate price and contract terms between clients and suppliers to achieve clients objectives
  • Create detailed pricing and budget comparison reports for clients
  • Support sales staff in identifying and evaluating client opportunities, and help to define their value to potential clients
  • Interface with clients on an as-needed basis throughout the sales process and in post-contract relationship management
  • Monitor macro and regional trends impacting the North American power market and their impact on customers


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a power and gas analyst, consultant, broker
  • Previous experience modeling power and gas usage and outcomes
  • Previous experience working with large customers with $500K+ annual spending in power and gas costs
  • Previous experience interfacing with customers (directly or in a sales support role) about power and gas structures
  • Previous experience working with internal stakeholders in a team atmosphere


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in electricity and natural gas commodity contracts
  • Previous experience in demand response programs
  • Previous experience in ancillary market programs
  • Previous distributed energy resources
  • STEM Majors


Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skill and attention to detail
  • Analytical background and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel
  • Past experience demonstrating an aptitude to learn quickly and be flexible
