NRG’s Texas Retail undergraduate rotational program provides participants with opportunities to work with NRG's senior leaders to explore career options and develop technical, professional, and decision-making skills while contributing to specific business objectives. Participants will also have the opportunity to assess their own interests while gaining valuable exposure to NRG's culture and values.

 

NRG’s Undergraduate Rotational Program is a 24-month cross-functional program with 4 (four) – six-month rotations throughout various areas of the Retail organization. We are looking for high-potential, strategic-minded, and adaptable new undergrads that can add value while building their business acumen and professional skills in a fast-paced environment. While placement at the conclusion of the program is not guaranteed, participation in the program may lead to full-time opportunities within the business.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities

 

  • Work will consist of both project-based initiatives as well as day-to-day production support tasks that may include operational improvements, launching/managing marketing initiatives, business development, or developing a business strategy
  • May analyze company, market, and competitive data and consult on business initiatives and strategies
  • May work across the following functions:
    • Retail Strategy
    • Competitive Intelligence
    • Business Planning
    • Customer Care and Retention
    • Customer Experience
    • Operations
    • Innovation
    • Sales
    • Marketing – Brand/digital/mass media
    • Acquisitions

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Must be on track to graduate with an undergraduate degree in the 2020/2021 academic year OR be a recent undergrad within the last 24 months 
  • Must have basic Microsoft Office experience
  • Must be willing to relocate to the Houston, TX area for the duration of the program
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt and work well in diverse situations and populations
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills through verbal, written and presentation mediums
  • Must demonstrate behaviors consistent with NRG’s STRIVE VALUES: Safety, Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Value Creation, Exemplary Leadership

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Business, Marketing, Finance or Engineering majors
  • Previous experience holding leadership positions within extra-curricular, community or university sponsored organizations
  • Previous internship or full-time work experience
