NRG Business Solutions manages a broad portfolio of competitively priced product and service offerings that can be tailored to meet the growing energy and sustainability needs of regional and national partners.  In delivering these important capabilities, NRG Business Solutions is responsible for orchestrating product development, origination, structuring, negotiation, construction and the implementation of solutions for retail and wholesale customers. 

Position Overview:


The marketing coordinator will support the implementation of marketing and communication programs and campaigns, updating calendars, planning meetings, and preparing campaign progress reports. The coordinator will also support trafficking and management of an internal communications SharePoint website. This position works closely with different teams, including but not limited to, digital, communications (internal & external), legal, content, creative services, sales, research, and customer experience.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Supports corporate and brand marketing team on assigned projects through timely completion
  • Supports team goals by coordinating and developing marketing collateral, initiatives, and project elements and delivering required materials by the assigned deadline. Supports putting together creative briefs and following up on assets creation timeline
  • Manage project intake and trafficking for the marketing team in the project management system (Wrike)
  • Contributes to the implementation and measurement of marketing plans and initiatives under the guidance of the marketing manager
  • Coordinates various marketing and advertising activities, including special events and contributes to communication, reports, and presentations; interacts with the public in a positive manner
  • Responsible for organization of Watts Current (WC - is an internal communications SharePoint portal)
  • Coordinate with communications team to ensure all events are captured in the organization calendar and content shared in WC
  • Responsible for updating WC as needed
  • Suggest improvements to WC site design, UX (user experience flow) for the different pages (current and new), and document organization
  • Develop workflows within WC as needed to assign readings/trainings as requested by the organization
  • Hold trainings and informational sessions (including training documentation creation and updates) on the WC platform and its uses
  • Coordinate lunch & learn sessions for Business Solutions and update WC communications section accordingly
  • Adheres to brand guidelines and ensures quality on all marketing materials; follows department processes
  • Proactively updates stakeholders on tasks and project status
  • Contributes to the development of effective business decisions through clear, concise communication and reporting using compelling data to support conclusions
  • Submits invoices on time and tracks and adheres to budget for assigned projects
  • Supports measuring and sharing campaign results and provides recommendations for improvement
  • Applies workflows and policies while continuously identifying areas of efficiency and standardization
  • Develops a foundational knowledge across marketing functions and seeks opportunities to strengthen marketing skill sets
  • Maintains positive working relationships with marketing stakeholders, internal customers, and production vendors
  • Acts as a resource in providing information to others and the implementation of marketing solutions


Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of marketing or communications experience
  • Previous experience with trafficking/project management in an agency setting
  • Previous experience working on marketing campaigns, including messaging and visual collateral
  • Strong Technical skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Familiarity and willingness to develop expert knowledge of SharePoint 365


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Marketing or Communication majors
  • 3 plus years of marketing or communications experience
  • Some Visual Design experience and/or training
  • Energy/Utility Industry or B2B experience
  • Interest in the power industry, project management and passion for marketing and/or branding

  • Keen attention to detail and an eye for visuals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Working Conditions:


  • Primarily an office environment.
  • Some overtime required as special projects arise.
  • Some travel might be required.
