Summary:

This position supports Small Business Energy Marketing Managers in managing deals from initial prospecting to closing and ongoing renewal.  This position has a particular focus on providing detail commercial analysis and process support for quoting and contracting small business prospective customers. This position also requires the ability to independently manage relationships with existing customers and perform critical pricing and contract execution.  Individuals in this position may be required to perform emerging sales, negotiation and commercial decision making skills.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage the sales process end to end, responsible for ensuring all contracts and customer documentation is complete and accurate at time of contract execution.
  • Expedite the sales process to help improve sales effectiveness of Energy Marketing Managers (EMM).  Makes decisions regarding appropriate escalation channel(s) and “must-have” vs. optional deliverables from other groups.
  • Manage complete and accurate deal level data points: Contact information, start/end date, deal size, competitors, etc.
  • Responsible for training new hires for all sales support roles.
  • Reports and maintains the requirements and execution of service level agreements with support groups.
  • Responsible for processing and execution of contract amendments and assignments as necessary.
  • Independently handle account renewals and contract extension with guidance from EMMs and Marketing Management.  Uses independent judgment to determine deal timing, customer expectations and commercial needs of the business.
  • Perform market research and analysis; identify trends in products, margins, commodity information organize and distribute Weekly Market Summaries for customers/EMMs.  Assess and manage each customer’s experience with Reliant.  Identify and track events that could affect a client’s perception of Reliant in all aspects of the business.
  • Plan and execute targeted, strategic efforts and support business development activities
  • Contribute to achievement of Channels goals and objectives.
  • Varied responsibilities according to segment and general business needs.

 

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, MIS or related field required.  Industry specific work experience may substitute for educational requirement.

 

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of retail electricity market protocols, wholesale/retail energy supply and pricing, and market operations processes for assigned market area.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a professional, commercial setting.
  • Knowledge of Siebel 8.0 preferred.
  • Ability to absorb new company or technical knowledge as well as business skills.
  • Ability to make decisions in time-sensitive situations, sometimes with incomplete information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • PC skills – Microsoft Office suite of software and Siebel.

 

Physical Requirements:

Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities.

 

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment.

Some overtime required as needed
