Job Summary: 

 

This position is responsible for providing credit risk analysis and support to NRG’s Retail, and Wholesale with primary emphasis on the credit reviews and contract negotiations. The Credit Risk Management department is an integral component of NRG’s Risk group that reports to the company’s Chief Risk Officer. The Credit Risk Management team is tasked with developing and implementing credit policy across the organization for all segments of the business.  Key responsibilities of the group include identifying, quantifying, and mitigating credit risk. The group interfaces with Legal, Commercial Operations, Strategy, Accounting, IT, Treasury sales, and upper management regularly.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitoring and reporting of retail, and wholesale counterparty credit exposure
  • Frequent communication with management related to reporting, monitoring, and compliance related tasks
  • Monitoring & evaluating credit exposure for new and existing transactions between systems, while ensuring compliance with Risk Policy
  • Credit exposure modeling for potential transactions
  • Maintaining credit system for contractual amendments and customer rating changes
  • Information assimilation and presentation preparation for credit-related projects
  • Utilize technical knowledge to recommend and lead system enhancements to management and business units
  • Application Program Interface (API), Secured File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), and File Transfer Protocol (FTP) development and implementation
  • Data visualization knowledge (Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau)
  • System knowledge (Bloomberg, SAP, Visio, and MS Office, Powerpoint, Excel)
  • Project Management
  • Ad hoc requests

 

Working Conditions:

  • Open office environment.
  • Some overtime required as special projects arise.
  • Minimal travel

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or other business discipline.
  • 3-5 years professional experience in merchant energy, wholesale energy trading, large commercial or middle-market banking, corporate finance or computer science

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience with Data visualization tools (Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau)
