Position Summary

This position will primarily focus on supervising, motivating and coaching a team of 10 to 20 part-time sales agents in the Waco/Killeen/Temple market. This position requires strong organizational, multi-tasking, and reporting abilities as well as a proven track record of successful negotiating in face-to-face residential sales environments. The Team Lead ensures that all sales agents are delivering consistent sales messaging and brand representation. The role will be responsible for coaching and motivating the sales team to achieve organizational, team, and individual sales goals. This position reports to the Market Manager.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead by example by working alongside team members in all sales channels
  • Increase productivity and efficiency in existing direct sales channels through field activity, coaching, and training.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales, SPH, and budget targets
  • Ensure proper messaging is communicated to teams
  • Ensure sales agents are properly equipped with current tools and materials
  • Schedule and track day-to-day residential sales activity
  • Provide sales coaching, motivation, and training to sales agents
  • Lead by example by maintaining messaging and brand identity during the sales process
  • Work with other team members to support agent recruitment activities
  • Supervise and sell with all agents at all types of venues
  • Work diligently to assure safety for all sales team members
  • Assure that sales agents meet all quality standards and meet QA weekly benchmarks to ensure the accuracy of messaging and utilization of appropriate sales tactics
  • Review daily reports and identify performance issues
  • Follow up on action items and determine the need for additional training/marketing materials/offers/contingency plan—communicate with Market Manager
  • Complete administrative tasks as the need arise
  • Report weekly to the Market Manager

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Must have previous experience in a sales or management role
  • Must have proven leadership abilities
  • Must be able to travel to sales regions for training and program oversight
  • Travel between markets about 20% of time
  • Weekend work required on occasion
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous Face-to-face customer interaction and/or sales experience 
  • 2 plus years of sales management or other leadership experience
  • Previous Energy experience

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Interest in environmental and renewable energy issues
  • An incredible eye for detail and a natural aptitude for organization
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently
  • High degree of computer literacy regarding Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven personal sales record and ability
  • Commitment to the goals of Green Mountain Energy Company
  • Understanding of face-to-face value sales and processes and the ability to train based on these
  • Ability to drive quality sales using proven tactics and creative ideas
  • Ability to hire and train sales agents
