Overview:

The position of the HVAC Service Installer is to deliver exceptional HVAC Installations and Repairs on Residential heating and air conditioning systems under the direction of the HVAC Service Technician and Operations Management to ensure all work is performed correctly.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of mechanical codes.
  • Replace, modify, and/or install warm air furnaces, air conditioners, duct distribution systems to the manufacturer’s recommendations and local codes.
  • Be able to startup installed equipment and adjust to the manufacturers and job specification.
  • Be able to troubleshoot, adapt, and resolve/repair all issues that arise during an installation that would keep the equipment from functioning properly.
  • Experience with single, 2-stage and variable speed systems.
  • Perform all HVAC repairs and replacements to applicable codes.
  • Communicate with the consumer regarding the proper operation and owner’s maintenance of the installed equipment. Answer related questions as to operation, features, and functions to the homeowner.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Work in extreme temperatures.  Take all precautions to ensure safety of yourself and of others in the environment. 
  • Good communicative skills with the ability to effectively work with a variety of internal and external customers.  Have client sign necessary paper work and collect payments as directed.
  • Ability to effectively use mobile computing devices to capture/record diagnostic results.
  • Ability to document job specific information, complete and close out work orders and receive and record customer payment when required.
  • Good practical skills.
  • An ability to follow technical drawings, building plans and wiring diagrams.
  • An ability to work carefully, methodically and safely.
  • A head for heights and willingness to work in all sorts of weather.
  • Be able to accurately list/order materials and supplies for use on the job.
  • Transport materials and tools to the job site and provide proper accounting of assigned tools.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
  • Communicate with Field Installation Supervisor throughout each project in order to assure proper, prompt completion of the job.
  • Communicate effectively with associates, superiors, vendors, and customers.
  • Be able to work under time constraints, budgetary limits, and pressures.
  • Efficiently manage his/her time and schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

EPA Certified
Knowledge of the fundamental operational functionality of residential HVAC equipment.
Able to troubleshoot problems with refrigerant, electrical, and duct systems on HVAC equipment.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (including weekends).
Must be able to use a computer tablet, smart phone and read a map or follow GPS.
Valid driver's license, and approved to drive by Company's insurance carrier.

 

Education:

  • High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent math and English skills required.
  • Completion of recognized HVAC trade school preferred.

 

Experience:

 Generally requires 2 years related experience

  • An ability to work carefully, methodically and safely.
  • A head for heights and willingness to work in all sorts of weather.

    Physical Fitness:

  • Ability to safely lift heavy HVAC equipment
  • Ability to safely work kneeling, crouching and similar positions for extended periods
  • Ability to safely work in extreme temperatures
