Role and Responsibilities


The Operations Business Analyst will primarily be responsible for monitoring grid conditions and managing after hours notifications for demand response curtailment events. This role will work both individually and as part of a team to:

  • Ensure event monitoring platform is prepared for monitoring and use and  staff is available for in-event performance calls to customers
  • Ensure in-event performance calls are assigned and everything is documented in demand response event management software for compliance purposes
  • Act as a bridge between event personnel and systems personnel
  • Ensure all communications templates are prepared and accurate for use
  • Responsible for working with NOC staff to ensure all pre-event, day-ahead, day-of and post-event duties are completed
  • Responsible for handling after hours inbound calls


Work Schedule


The Operations Business Analyst position will require working outside of normal business hours. Available shifts include:

  • 5 am - 1:30 pm 
  • 2:30 pm - 11 am
  • During the initial training phase (which may last up to 2 months), the hours will be 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.


Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Training and Development 
  • Must have experience working with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be able to fulfill storm/event duty requirements, which may include:

    • Working during winter storms and other possible catastrophic event conditions.

    • Reporting to the storm/event duty location(s) and perform the job functions as required.

    • Working extended shifts as necessary until storm or event conditions reside.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Analytical Background
  • Prior energy industry experience
  • Knowledge of demand response programs, distributed asset operation and/or behind the meter programs
  • NERC or PJM certification 
  • Prior experience working in one or more of the following markets:
    • CAISO
    • ERCOT
    • MISO
    • PJM
    • NYISO
    • IESO
    • ISONE

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skill
  • Organized, task-oriented, and strong attention to detail
  • Competence with mathematics and technical concepts
