Job Summary: 

The Business Operations & Technology Data Analyst role will focus on supporting all aspects of Business Operations data analysis and reporting. This includes playing an intricate role in program/market data validations, reporting, and analytics. This position will also support the Business Operations & Technology team to ensure the group is performing all necessary controls/processes that are required for compliance under manuals and tariffs. This position will also be utilized for various Business Operations & Technology related projects/requirements such as registrations, customer displays and various types of reporting.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Have an analytical background and ability to analyze electrical usage trends
  • Provide useful insights into process improvements and an improved control environment
  • Have a general understanding of the DER business (DR, ABDR) and the markets NRG conducts business in
  • Develop a strong understanding of Demand Response as a product and a strong understanding of interval data
  • Have a working knowledge of all market(s) and of IT systems in which data and customer information is housed
  • Responsible for data management, auditing, and monitoring of the METRICs system
  • Have strong problem-solving abilities and can work independently or alongside a team to resolve issues
  • Be a motivated self-starter
  • The desire to achieve and exceed all assigned goals
  • Have strong organizational, time-management and interpersonal skills
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with a diverse group of customers and internal departments
  • Be strong in Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint

  • Handle multiple tasks or assignments simultaneously
  • Work well under pressure, remaining focused and calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Work without direct supervision to achieve project goals
  • Be proactive in learning new information

Working Conditions:

  • Open office environment
  • Some overtime required as special projects arise
  • Minimal travel


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business or Math majors
  • 3 plus years of professional work experience

  • Will be required to perform additional duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
