Job Summary: 

  • NRG Distributed Energy Resources is looking for a skilled customer support representative to join our sales support team.  The customer support representative is responsible for resolving customer issues or complaints through the utilization of the energy market and contract knowledge as well as effective communication with third-party suppliers and our internal analyst and sales team members.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively (via telephone and e-mail) with customers on a daily basis by handling client inquiries including but not limited to: complaints, billing questions, payment questions, and tax issues/refunds
  • Act as a liaison between customers and suppliers, demonstrating clear communication to ensure all customer issues are resolved in a timely fashion
  • Maintain customer appreciation programs, which includes organizing the holiday gift mailing
  • Update customer records as necessary
  • Work effectively with multiple internal departments to ensure complete customer satisfaction and issue resolution

 

Working Conditions:

  • Open office environment.
  • Some overtime required as special projects arise.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in business, communication or a related field. 
  • In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and/or customer service related experience may be considered.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the energy industry
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and end-user customers to answer questions and resolve issues

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be organized, have great attention to detail, the ability to learn quickly and exemplary communication skills
  • Above average problem solving and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with internal departments
  • Use internet tools for research purposes
  • Work well in an individual and in a team environment
  • Handle multiple tasks or assignments at the same time
  • Work without direct supervision while carrying out duties
  • Be proactive in learning new information
  • Manage complex issues to find solutions
