General Summary of Position

The Warehouse Supervisors work as a team to lead and supervise Goal Zero’s warehouse employees and contractors to ensure Goal Zero is fulfilling customer commitments on-time and accurately. The Warehouse Supervisors are responsible for overseeing a number of key areas of Goal Zero’s Warehouse operation, including Receiving, Costco Roadshow Operations, Repair, Production, Sales Fulfillment and Shipping areas of the warehouse. The Warehouse Supervisors will oversee some and/or all key areas, as needed and assigned by the Warehouse Manager. The ideal candidate will have very strong organization skills and attention to detail and will help instill a TEAM atmosphere and a desire for constant improvement throughout the warehouse. This position reports to Warehouse Manager.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Receiving

  • Oversee personnel and process of receiving shipments from vendors and customers
  • Inspect the quality of items upon receiving and prior to moving to outbound functions of warehouse
  • Oversee the RMA process of receiving and processing returns from customers

 

Repair and Refurbishing

  • Oversee Repair and Refurbish process to ensure that inventory is properly dispositioned and physically moved to appropriate areas for repair and/or refurbishment.
  • Oversee hardware repairs/replacements as directed by product development and engineering protocols

 

Costco Roadshows

  • Oversee personnel and process to ensure that shows are pulled and shipped out Costco roadshows
  • Oversee receiving, and inventory of Costco Roadshow returns
  • Assists with and oversees loading and unloading trucks

 

Sales Fulfillment and Shipping

  • Oversees and assists with personnel responsible for arranging shipping for all customer orders (both B2C and B2B)
  • Responsible for knowing and assuring compliance with B2B Routing Guides
  • Oversees and assists with personnel responsible for managing outbound freight LTL shipments
  • Oversees and assists with personnel responsible for managing international and hazardous goods shipments
  • Responsible for arranging shipping for all customer orders (both B2C and B2B) and assures timely notification to customers of shipment status
  • Responsible for managing relationship with shipping suppliers
  • Answer phones and emails concerning order status

 

Production and Repack

  • Oversee kit building of different types of products as needed to fulfill orders including working with Supply Chain to insure that packaging and product are ordered and kits are built and ready to ship.
  • Oversee the battery maintenance program to ensure that all inventory is kept charged and ready for shipment.
  • Oversee the repack process ensuring that products are packaged appropriately

 

Employee Supervision

  • Assist in the hiring process for additional employees and contractors
  • Communicate contractor staffing needs with Warehouse Manager
  • Supervise Receiving, Repair and Costco Roadshow Warehouse employees
  • Keeping others motivated
  • Fill in for absent employees and business demands on any level at any time

 

Other duties as assigned

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to use computer for Inventory tracking and systems (preferred MAS 200), spreadsheets, and shipping all types of orders (Consumer – B2C, B2B, International, LTL, etc)
  • Problem solving skills, highly motivated, well organized, punctual.
  • Use different shipping methods/vendors: UPS, FedEx, DHL, LTL, etc.
  • Able to operate and get certified on forklift
  • Ability to thrive in high stress situations
  • Ability to meet time constraining demands

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, Required
  • 5+ years of experience in shipping/receiving operations and/or supervision, with experience in int. shipping, preferred
  • Experience supervising multiple employees, preferred
  • Fork-lift certification, a plus

  • Required to have the ability to constantly lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) as needed to fulfill orders.
  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl.
