General Summary of Position

 

The Social Media Specialist will oversee all aspects of Goal Zero Social media. Reporting to, and working closely with the Creative Manager, this position writes, edits, publishes and manages organic and paid content across all Goal Zero social media channels.

 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Write, edit, publish, and manage organic and paid content
  • Develop and manage best-in-class social media strategy for Goal Zero--you’ll support campaigns with social programs and content that breaks through to our audience.
  • Continuously measure and optimize campaign performance while also establishing benchmarks and recommending future tests.
  • Drive innovative and fun thought leadership programs in partnership with ambassadors, retail, PR, sales, events, and key partners.
  • Develop social programs that generate a YOY increase in followers & revenue across GZ’s social outlets.
  • Develop a social strategy to support key partners, events and retailers.
  • Take a leadership role as the key point of contact between the marketing team and Goal Zero retail stakeholders, keeping up to date with events and promotions, and maintaining consistency across Goal Zero retail social outlets and GZ social outlets to support key campaigns.
  • Oversee content creation captured at events and GZ retail.
  • Liaise with regional counterparts to learn and implement best practice strategy globally.
  • Work with communications leads and agencies to manage any social crisis situations that arise.
  • Address customer questions/comments as needed.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven track record of success in developing social media programs for premium brands, and management of social media communities, with responsibilities in day-to-day management, growth strategies, measurement, engagement campaigns, and content strategy.
  • Experience in managing and measuring a variety of ongoing events or campaign-specific social demand generation programs.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Exceptional copywriting and communication skills.
  • Experience in working with contractors and agencies to brief, manage and evaluate their work.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and independently.
  • Strong program management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Broad business understanding, strong analytical abilities, and critical, creative thinker.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented.
  • Driven, motivated, positive, enthusiastic and energetic.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous experience managing social media strategies
  • Previous experience developing and producing content
  • Previous experience managing social media advertising budgets
  • Must be willing to travel overnight up to 20%
  • Must be willing to work occasional nights and weekends
  • Must have previous experience using Adobe Creative Suite

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising or related field
  • 3 plus years of experience of managing social media strategies and developing and producing content

 

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Regularly required to use a computer to communicate via online channels.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Minimal domestic travel is required – approximately 20%. 
  • Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

 

Working Conditions

  • Open Office Environment – Primary Work Location.
  • Warehouse Environment.
  • Position to be located at Goal Zero in Buffalo, UT – no relocation available
