General Summary of Position

The Marketing Manager/ Sr. Manager - Online Marketplace* role will oversee all aspects of Goal Zero’s Marketplace business (Amazon Marketplace, eBay, New Egg etc.)

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this position sets the strategic growth initiatives and works with their peers and potential direct reports to execute those strategies flawlessly on time and on budget resulting in consistent double-digit growth.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with the Head of Marketing to forecast annual revenue and cost budgets with accountability and ownership for meeting those budgets
  • Lead and manage all aspects of Goal Zero’s Marketplace business from traffic driving, conversion rates, site merchandising and marketing tactics to grow this critical business.
  • Manage the operating budget that includes spending for Amazon Search, display, headline search, AMG marketing with a focus on growth and profitability
  • Collaborate with leaders within the marketing department and across the organization to achieve common business goals
  • Work with Brand Manager to ensure A+ content is on point and effectively improving conversion rates while maintaining brand consistency
  • Develop the Marketplace team to provide growth opportunities for potential direct reports (based on experience) and creating an extremely high-performance team
  • Act as a leader within the marketing department and overall organization aligning with the company-wide strategic initiatives and providing support beyond the daily job description
  • Work closely with the Head of US Sales to ensure consistent messaging and pricing across all of Goal Zero’s sales channels

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or a related field of study. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
  • Must have previous digital or e-commerce experience, with a proven track record of driving growth
  • Must have previous experience with budget planning
  • Must demonstrate effective problem solving and creative abilities 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA degree in Marketing, Business or similar field
  • 5 plus years in a Digital Marketing role
  • 2 plus years managing an Amazon Marketplace business
  • Previous experience building brands within Omni-Channel businesses

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Effective leader with a deep knowledge of Amazon and Marketplace levers that drive growth and improvement
  • Sound business acumen and a track record of solid decision making and smart investments of time and budget
  • The ability to collaborate within the department and organization to ensure marketing needs are met and voices across the organization are heard
  • Strong self-management with attention to prioritization of projects and meeting deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of brand building and the ability to work within the guardrails of an Omni-channel business
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • The ability to plan a budget that is both effective and efficient, recognizing the impact on margins and profitability

  • Regularly required to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
  • Regularly required to use a computer to communicate via online channels
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
  • Minimal domestic travel is required – approximately 5% 
  • Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
