JOB SUMMARY:

Vivint’s Field Service Analytics team is tasked with understanding the business drivers of the field service organization and being able to provide the tools and data-driven insights to optimize and improve operations.  As a Sr. business analyst, it will be your job to build the tools that will guide decisions and help us answer challenging business questions.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop deep understanding of Vivint’s Field Service operations and understand how the various parts of the business work together (sales, customer support, inventory and supply chain, product teams, etc.)
  • Understand the business case for our current efforts and help understand tradeoffs, ROI, and strategy implications of potential new initiatives
  • Analyze and report on current efforts, with a particular focus on opportunities for increased efficiency and operational success metrics; take responsibility for data integrity and be able to craft and build a narrative of what’s happening in the business
  • Help build daily reporting and operational metrics for field service

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to manage projects and meet tight deadlines
    • In conjunction with business leaders, work on high value initiatives that can be taken or improved using data-driven decisions
    • Using a “problem statement” structure, clearly define the desired outcome, including analytic results and resulting actions
    • Identify and understand in detail the necessary data to solve the problem and work with IT to solve for any gaps in our current IT infrastructure and data collection efforts
    • Ability to be responsive to business needs as they arise and in a time-sensitive manner, navigating occasionally tight deadlines without sacrificing quality or completeness
    • Ability to perform tasks with acute attention to detail and a high level of precision
  • Ability to perform analysis, synthesize findings, and communicate results
    • Using a variety of methodologies and tools (described below), solve defined “problem statement” with data-driven insights
    • Work closely with technical teams to ensure data quality and accuracy, and extract required data
    • Identify trends and patterns based on data
    • Define ongoing metrics to track and evaluate progress
    • Likely methodologies will include:
      • Excel-based analysis (e.g., cross-tab analysis, trends, ratios, conversion rates, graphical analysis, etc.)
      • Financial modeling (including return on investment)
      • Regression modeling (linear, logit, probit)
      • Segmentation analysis
    • Likely tools will include:
      • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, including VBA)
      • Tableau, PowerBI, Domo
      • Knowledge of Salesforce software will be helpful contextually, but is not required
      • SQL/Snowflake
      • Statistical programs (specifically R and Python, though experience with SAS and STATA or other statistical programing language will be useful; willingness and ability to learn quickly)

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of experience in one or more of the following fields: strategy consulting, economic analysis, predictive analytics, business analytics, data engineering/ETL
  • Highly analytical with strong, demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely – both in writing and verbally
  • “Owner’s” attitude, including a willingness to tackle problems through to solutions and an ability to work both independently and across functions
