About This Role
We are seeking a senior data scientist to own mobile app performance metrics and unlock insights that drive engagement, retention and customer lifetime value. You will analyze how app reliability influences user behavior, measure engagement across features and product tiers and inform product and marketing decisions with rigorous data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
• Track and analyze mobile app performance metrics such as load times, crash rates and error rates; identify drivers of poor performance and work with engineering teams to improve reliability.
• Build models and analyses to understand how app performance influences user engagement, retention, upsells, upgrades and customer lifetime value across Home Protect Pro, Home Protect and Home Essentials.
• Design and maintain dashboards and reports that monitor engagement metrics (daily, weekly and monthly active users, sessions per day, stickiness) and feature usage across products.
• Perform cohort analyses, experiments and causal inference to quantify correlations between engagement and retention; recommend product improvements to increase customer value.
• Collaborate with product managers, mobile developers, marketing and finance to prioritize features, shape roadmaps and align analytics with business goals.
• Communicate insights effectively to technical and nontechnical stakeholders through visualizations, presentations and written reports.
Required Qualifications
• Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field and at least five years of experience in product or mobile analytics.
• Proven expertise in statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, causal inference and cohort analysis.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python and experience with analytics platforms such as BigQuery, Databricks or similar; familiarity with mobile analytics tools (for example Firebase, Amplitude or Mixpanel).
• Ability to design and interpret A/B tests and experiments.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex analyses to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience analyzing mobile app performance metrics and telemetry.
• Knowledge of retention modeling, customer lifetime value calculation and customer segmentation.
• Experience working in subscription or SaaS businesses with multiple product tiers.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker and scripting languages for automation.
