Summary:

Field Product Manager plays a key role in driving the success of Vivint&aposs products by acting as a bridge between product development, engineering, sales, and installation teams. This position requires in-depth knowledge of the company&aposs product offerings, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate customer needs into actionable insights.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the in-house expert on products, including features, benefits, use cases, and competitive differentiators.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and training for both internal teams (sales, Customer Service) and external customers.
  • Engage directly with installation and Services teams to gather feedback, understand their needs, and resolve product-related inquiries.
  • Act as a liaison between installation teams and the product development team, providing insights on preferences, challenges, and desired features.
  • Monitor product performance through KPIs, customer feedback, usage data, and surveys.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to define product specifications, success metrics, user stories, and roadmaps.
  • Participate in product launches, beta tests, and pilot programs, providing insights and recommendations for product improvements.
  • Ensure product updates are well-communicated to internal teams and customers.
  • Provide technical support to installation teams and other internal partners.
  • Create product documentation, including user guides, FAQs, and best practices, to support product success.
  • Train internal teams and customers on product usage and best practices.
  • Test firmware versions to ensure we are releasing quality firmware to our customers/technicians.

Required Skills, Experience & Education: 

  • Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager, with a focus on product success and reliability.
  • Strong understanding of product performance metrics and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects and balance short-term fixes with long-term goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and present complex issues in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Capable of creating a plan out of an ambiguous problem.

Required Education/Experience

  • 4+ years of product management experience
  • Hardware and software experience (preferred, but not required)
  • Relevant work experience with defining and delivering consumer products and/or Services
