Summer Internship Program
Our 10-week program is designed to increase future employment potential for prospects while providing a valuable resource to the business. This Summer Internship will appeal to proactive and self-motivated college sophomores/juniors with a genuine desire to learn about the energy business and industry. During the internship, candidates will work on real projects and have real responsibilities. NRG aims to help candidates build strengths and gain skills that can be transferred to any workplace and help them stand out from the crowd.
Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a curious, motivated Marketing & eCommerce Intern to support our Customer Marketing and eCommerce team for a 10-week internship. This role is designed to give hands-on experience across real campaigns, real data, and real optimization decisions—while learning how modern lifecycle marketing, eCommerce, and AI-powered testing work together.
You’ll support A/B testing initiatives, campaign optimization, reporting, and content ideation across evergreen and promotional campaigns. You’ll work closely with marketing automation, eCommerce, content, and analytics partners to help identify what’s working, what’s not, and where we can improve customer experiences.

NRG Interns need to be able to demonstrate the following behaviors:

Support A/B testing and content experiments, including AI-powered messaging initiatives across email, SMS, app, and eCommerce experiences.

Help analyze evergreen and sales campaign performance and prepare simple readouts on what’s working, what’s not, and opportunities for improvement.

Assist with campaign optimization, including messaging tweaks, creative ideas, and journey improvements for evergreen and promotional campaigns.

Contribute to content and testing ideation for lifecycle and eCommerce campaigns (e.g., subject lines, headlines, CTAs, value framing).

Help organize and document test results, learnings, and best practices to share with the broader team.

Partner with team members across Customer Marketing, eCommerce, and Analytics to understand how campaigns are built and measured.

Assist with organization of content, tagging and file storage to ease use and ensure accessibility across teams.

Gain exposure to real-world marketing tools, workflows, and decision-making processes.
Minimum Qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Analytics, or a related field.

Interest in digital marketing, eCommerce, customer journeys, or experimentation.

Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.

Comfortable working with basic data, spreadsheets, or reports (Excel or Google Sheets).

Ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively.

Curiosity, positivity, and a willingness to learn.
