Job Summary:   

The Specialist is responsible for performing all day-to-day tasks associated with the Accounts Receivables function. Including but not limited to, inputting transactions, researching & resolving correspondence from customers & vendors, processing information from multiple sources and utilizing reports to help reconcile.

The Specialist has a direct impact on customer experience and actively works to resolve billing related issues, audits invoice details and interacts with various internal groups to ensure customer billing satisfaction and accurate revenue recognition. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Supports the AR function, including processing receivables, posting unapplied payments, monitoring in the event of declined credit cards, researching payments & lockbox rejects
• Conducts the day-to-day invoice processing & quality checks to ensure that AR processing guidelines are being met
• Communicates cross functionally with various teams in Accounting as well as other departments of the company
• Identifies, tests and implements improvements (including system enhancements) with the goal of mitigating risks and improving cash application timeliness, accuracy and completeness 
• Records payments (lockbox, ACH, Direct Debits, Wires) to the appropriate customer accounts in a timely, accurate manner while adhereing to cash application policies and procedures 
• Ensures that exceptions (payments not processed through daily automation) are applied daily and accurately 
• Resolves misapplied and/or unapplied payment issues for customers with a sense of urgency
• Prepares detailed, accurate, and organized Accounts Receivable reconciliations of customer accounts for customer requests as well as internal requests 
• Completes requests from other departments and ensures the requests are completed in a timely and accurate manner 
• Resolves chargebacks to dispute invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures. 
• All other projects and duties as assigned.

Working Conditions: 

• Open office environment or fully remote work options available. 

• Some overtime required as special projects arise. 

• 5% Travel expected. 

Minimum Requirements:  

• 1 – 2 years of Accounts Receivable or Loan Structure experience, preferred. 

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business or 1-2 years experience in the field or in a related area. 

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Analytical, mathematical and organizational skills. 

• Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel. 

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate findings, make recommendations, facilitate corrections. 

• Ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about.
